The Representative of Sri Lanka to the State of Palestine, Mr. Mohamed Farook Mohamed Fawzer, and the Attaché Mr. S.R. Mahinda Kumar has participated in the Roundtable Discussion on: “Palestine/Israel: History Undecided?”, which was organized by The Palestinian Academic Society for the Study of International Affairs (PASSIA), in cooperation with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), at Millennium Hotel, Ramallah on 13th May 2026.
During the discussion, the speaker Mr. Afif Safieh, a Retired Ambassador in (London, Washington & Moscow) addressed the trajectory of the peace process, tracing its path from initial breakthroughs to eventual breakdown. He also examined whether Israel’s regional strategy is better understood as one of deterrence or compellence, and the changing nature of American-Israeli relations.
